Yellowstone National Park - The Mud Volcano

The Mud Volcano and the Sulfur Caldron is probably the best smelling area in the park (not that other areas don't effuse hydrogen sulfite, but the most impressive arouma has to come from around here!). The sulfur caldron is among the most acidic spring the park, with a PH of 1-2 (that's close to one molar of strong acid!).

Yellowstone National Park - Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

Yellowstone's Grand Canyon may not be as big as the Grand Canyon in Arizona, but it is nonetheless breathtaking. If you ever wonder why the park is called yellowstone, these picture taken in the Grand Canyon area might give you some clue. The 1,200 feet-deep V-shape valley is carved by glacial movement and melted water starting some 14,000 years ago. It is quite colorful because of the rusting of the iron compound in the volcanic rocks.

Yellowstone National Park - Mammoth Hot Springs

Here, mineral-rich water from hot springs has created huge terraces made of travertine. As hot water rises from underground through the rock, large quantities of limestone are dissolved and deposited at the surface when the water cools down, building the terraces. While travertine is normally a white material, bacteria that thrive in the hot water form large orange-brownish mats covering the surfaces. The terraces constantly grow where hot water flows over them and erode where the supply of water stops, thereby slowly changing shape over time.

Yellowstone National Park - Old Faithful

Old Faithful erupts every 35 to 120 minutes for 1 1/2 to 5 minutes. Its maximum height ranges from 90 to 184 feet. It is not the biggest or the most regular geyser in Yellowstone but it is the biggest regular geyser.People expecting an hourly eruption are often surprised when they have to wait through a 90 minute to 2 hour interval.

Hmm..Mok Nik bernasib baik..sebaik sampai kat sana dalam 10 minit tunggu Old Faithful pun erupt ...

Yellowstone National Park - 1- Geysers

Yellowstone National Park is a U.S. National Park located in the states of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. Yellowstone is the first and oldest national park in the world and covers 3,470 square miles (8,980 kmē), mostly in the northwest corner of Wyoming. The park is famous for its various geysers, hot springs, and other geothermal features and is home to grizzly bears and wolves, and free-ranging herds of bison and elk.My experience at Yellowstone was awesome.I was there for 3 days, not long enough, but I got some great hikes in.
